Payment reports in Financial Reports help you review money collected, refunds, and processing fees. They use transaction date, rather than the appointment or checkout date.

Use this guide to compare payment totals, find individual transactions, and locate information that moved to other reports.

  2. Set the Transaction date range for the activity you want to review.

  3. Check Business name so the report covers the correct location or locations.

  4. Choose Group by to organize your totals. For example, select Payment method to compare cash with other methods.

  5. Apply the relevant filters for Payment method, Transaction type, or Payment type.

Payment type and transaction type

Payment type distinguishes deposits, prepayments, and regular payments. Transaction type distinguishes the kind of money movement, such as a payment or refund.

Grouping options

You can group by up to two levels using Business name, Payment method, Payment type, Transaction type, and Transaction date. Transaction-date grouping includes Day, Week, Month, and Year.

Find a payment or refund

  1. Open Payment transaction report separately in the Finance tab.

  2. Match the transaction-date range and business scope to the period you are investigating.

  3. Narrow the records using Invoice ID, Booking ID, Client name, Payment method, Payment type, or Transaction type.

  4. Review the relevant row, including Transaction ID, Transaction datetime, Payment amount, and the processing-fee fields.

Checkout date and appointment start/end date filters provide context; transaction date determines the payment period.

Processed by identifies who processed the transaction. It is not the same as the staff member assigned to provide a service.

📝 Note: Clicking a Payment summary row does not open its transactions. Open Payment transaction separately and apply the corresponding dates and filters.

Find information that moved out of payment reports

The updated payment reports focus on payment activity. They do not provide the previous combined view of sales categories, tips, taxes, assigned staff, and pet names on each payment row.

Information you need

Where to start

Collected amounts by item or category

Tips by staff or payment method

Tax collected during a payment period

Finance > Sales tax report, using Payment date.

Taxable amounts and tax within a payment

Finance > Sales tax detail report, showing the taxable amount and tax per item within each payment.

Tax amounts on an invoice

Sales invoice, using checkout date. This shows invoice tax amounts, not tax collected by payment date.

Pets or assigned staff for sold items

Sales detail, using checkout date

Sales detail is not a replacement for staff or pet information on individual payment rows. If your workflow depends on that combined view, contact MoeGo Support.

Understand differences from sales and payouts

A boarding deposit collected on November 1 can appear in payment activity before the stay is checked out and invoiced on November 6. Payment and sales totals can therefore fall in different reporting periods.

For a payout comparison, review the payout records alongside Payment transaction. Payout settlement dates, fees, refunds, and adjustments may differ from the payment activity in your selected period.

For unexplained differences, share the report names, location, dates, filters, and a transaction example with MoeGo Support.
