Review booked sales, appointment counts, and pet counts, then inspect the scheduled items behind those totals.

Expected sales reports are part of Financial Reports. They help you review sales associated with booked appointments that have not yet checked out.

Use them to understand booked demand and plan staffing. Expected sales are not collected payments or guaranteed income.

Choose a report

Report

What it shows

Use it for

Expected sales summary report

Grouped booked sales, appointment counts, and pet counts

Reviewing booked demand by location, category, item, staff, or appointment date

Expected sales detail report

Individual booked items behind the summary

Checking the appointments, pets, and services that make up the totals

Understand the date range

Expected sales uses appointment start date. This is different from the checkout date used by Sales reports and the transaction date used by Payment reports.

For example, a boarding stay that starts on November 28 and ends on December 2 has a November 28 appointment start date. Choose the start-date period that includes the booking you want to review.

Changing the date range does not make these reports answer the same question. Expected sales focuses on booked activity that has not yet checked out; Sales reports cover invoiced sales by checkout date.

Review Expected sales summary

  1. Open the Sales tab in your reports and select Expected sales summary report.

  2. Set the Appointment start date range for the bookings you want to review.

  3. Check Business name so the report covers the correct location or locations.

  4. Choose Group by to organize the booked activity.

  5. Apply Revenue category, Item name, or Appointment end date filters when you need to narrow the view.

Metrics

Metric

What it helps you understand

Total gross sales

The booked sales value before discounts

Number of appointments

The appointment volume represented in the selected view

Number of pets

The pet volume represented in the selected view

A booking may involve more than one pet or service.

Grouping options

You can group by up to three levels using Business name, Revenue category, Revenue sub-category, Item name, Appointment start date, Appointment end date, Assigned staff, and Appointment status.

For example, Business name → Revenue category → Item name shows which booked services contribute to each location's expected sales.

If items appear as Category not assigned, review their Revenue Category assignments.

Inspect Expected sales detail

  1. Open Expected sales detail report in the Sales tab.

  2. Use the same business scope and appointment-start-date period as the summary you are reviewing.

  3. Review the individual booked items, using the appointment, client, pet, item, and assigned-staff information to identify the relevant bookings.

  4. Check the underlying appointment if an item or amount differs from what you expected.

One appointment can contain multiple pets or services, so the detail report can contain more than one row for a booking.

Use expected sales alongside other reports

Use Sales reports to review invoiced sales and Payment reports to review money collected.

Expected sales does not provide a complete projection of everything your business will earn in a month. Bookings can change, and additional appointments may be made. Its gross sales measure also differs from the net sales and collected-payment measures in other reports.

If you cannot explain an expected-sales result after checking the appointment, dates, location, and filters, contact MoeGo Support with a specific booking example.
