đ§Ș Beta: This guide is for boarding and daycare businesses using Financial Reports with Smarter Invoice. Financial Reports are currently in beta. Contact MoeGo Support to request access.
Financial Reports help owners, managers, accountants, and bookkeepers understand the money side of a boarding and daycare business. You can review what was sold, when payments arrived, which invoices remain unpaid, and how deposits, store credit, and packages were used.
A single total cannot answer all of those questions. Financial Reports separates them into focused reports, with summary views for totals and detailed views for the records behind them. Custom Revenue Categories help you organize supported reports around the way your business reviews revenue.

How Financial Reports relate to Standard Reports
When your business moves to Financial Reports, they replace Standard Reports for your account. Owners, managers, and bookkeepers use the reporting experience available to that business; the two versions are not available side by side.
Some boarding and daycare businesses still use Standard Reports. If your report names or screens do not match these guides, contact MoeGo Support to check which reporting experience your account uses.
Start with the question and the date
Your question | Start with | Date to pay attention to |
What did we sell? | Sales summary report | Checkout date |
What money did we collect? | Payment summary report | Transaction date |
What money did we receive by category? | Cash basis sales report | Payment or transaction date |
What was still owed at month-end? | Open invoice report | The selected as-of date |
For example, a pet parent might pay for a boarding stay before the invoice is checked out. The payment and the sale can then appear in different reporting periods. Before comparing totals, check that the reports answer the same question and use the same business locations and date basis.
Financial Reports support your bookkeeping workflow. They do not replace accounting software, and exporting a report does not automatically sync it to accounting software.
