How to select recipients for an email campaign

Review recipient eligibility, use filters to target the right clients, and confirm the audience before sending an email campaign.

💎 Growth plan and above: Email campaign is available on the Growth plan and above.

The recipient step helps you control who receives an email campaign. It shows the selected client count, the filters applied, and the number of campaign credits that will be used.

Who can receive an email campaign

The recipient-selection screen displays these eligibility criteria for the campaign audience:

  • Marketing email: Subscribed — the client is subscribed through their email-channel marketing preference.

  • Client status: Active — the client has an active status.

  • Email: Has email — the client's profile includes an email address.

Email campaign uses the client's email-channel preference. Preferences for other communication channels do not replace the client's email preference.

Review the selected recipients

  1. Open the recipient step: Create or edit an email campaign, then continue to Select recipients.

  2. Check the recipient count: Review the total number of clients selected by the current criteria.

  3. Check the credit usage: Review the campaign credits that will be used for this audience.

  4. Review the criteria: Confirm that the displayed filters match the audience you intend to contact.

  5. Open the list: Select View list to review the individual recipients.

Refine the audience with filters

Use additional filters when you want to target a more specific client group.

  1. Open filters: Select Edit filters.

  2. Add the criteria: Choose the client or pet criteria that match your campaign goal.

  3. Review the result: Check the updated recipient count and client list.

  4. Continue: Select Next when the audience is ready.

For example, you might narrow a campaign by client tag, preferred business, or another available client or pet attribute. The available options follow the Client & Pet List filtering experience.

How location works for multi-location businesses

For the final campaign, the sender and business information are based on each recipient's preferred business. This helps clients receive information from the location connected to their profile.

The preview and test email use the business currently selected in MoeGo. Because of this, a test email can show different business information from the final email received by a client whose preferred business is another location.

What happens when a client unsubscribes

MoeGo adds an unsubscribe link to the email received by the client. The link does not appear in the campaign preview.

When a client unsubscribes, their email preference is updated and they stop receiving the applicable marketing emails. They will no longer meet the subscribed criterion for a future email campaign.

  • The campaign credit usage is expected.
