The Discount Module in MoeGo allows you to create flexible and targeted discounts for your clients. You can set specific start and end dates, define applicable services, add-ons, and products, and set client eligibility using advanced filters.
Whether rewarding loyal clients or attracting new customers, you can effortlessly create and manage discount codes to enhance your promotional strategies!
How to create a discount?
Access the Discount Module by going to Marketing > Discounts
Click on < Create discount > on the top right of the list of discounts.
It will take you to the create discount page.
You can flexibly customize your discount code by filling in these sections:
1. Basic information
Discount Code: This field is required and must be unique. Click to automatically create a random code.
Description: An optional, private note for your business reference.
Discount Value: Specify the amount or percentage to reduce the price of your item(s). You can choose to apply a fixed amount or a percentage discount.
Expiry Date: You can set up an expiry date for the discount. When the time reaches 24:00 on the expiry date, the discount code will automatically become inactive and can no longer be applied to appointments.
If no specific expiry date is set, the default option is < Never Expires >.
Applicable Appointment Date: The discount will only apply to appointments scheduled between these dates ( Start Date < Appointment date < End Date)
If no end date is set, the default option is < Ongoing > for continuous promotions.
2. Discount limitation
No Limitation: This default option applies the discount to the entire invoice, regardless of specific items.
Limit to Selected Options: Choose to specify which items—services, add-ons, or products—the discount applies to.
Click the < Edit > icon next to "Select Service/ Product" to select or deselect individual items.
Use the search bar to quickly find specific items if your list is long.
If you choose to include all items in a category, select "Select All". Note that once "Select All" is checked, you cannot exclude specific items from the selection.
3. Client eligibility
Everyone: This is the default system option, applying the discount to all clients without any eligibility restrictions.
Specific Group: You can restrict the discount to certain client groups:
New Clients: Applies only to clients with 0 finished appointment records in their profile.
Client Groups: Select one or multiple advanced filters to target a group of clients who meet specific criteria now and in the future.
4. Discount usage
By default, none of these restrictions are selected. You can choose both options when setting advanced limitations:
Limit the number of times this discount can be redeemed in total: Specify the total usage limit for the discount code.
Limit to one use per client: Restrict each client to redeem the discount only once.
5. Discount control
Automatically apply for new appointments when it's applicable: The discount will automatically be applied once you or your staff create the appointment.
Enable for online booking: Clients can enter the discount code during the online booking process.
Please note: The auto-reply setting does not automatically apply discounts to online booking requests. Clients must enter the code manually before submitting their booking.
How to redeem a discount code?
1. Apply a discount code at checkout
🖥️ Desktop:
Go to Appointment details > Take Payments.
On the appointment Invoice, click on < Add Discount > on the left.
Select one or more discount codes in the Discount menu.
Once the discount code has been applied to the invoice, a discount icon will appear next to the total amount.
You can hover over the total in the appointment detail to view detailed information about the applied discount code.
📱App:
Method 1:
Go to Appointment details > Take Payments.
On the Invoice, click on < Add Discount >.
Select one or more discount codes in the Discount menu.
Method 2:
Go to Appointment details, scroll down to the < Discount Applied > section
Click on " select discount to apply" under < Discount Applied > and select one or more discount codes in the Discount menu.
2. Clients add a discount when booking online
Your client can also apply an active discount code during the online booking process.
On the Personal Info page, the client can click < Enter discount code > to apply for the promotion.
You can set limitations and control which specific clients can use a certain discount code.

How to manage discount codes in my Discount List?
Discount Code Editing rule
If a discount code has already been applied to any invoice, it cannot be edited.
If the discount code has not been used yet, you can select it and click to modify the details as needed.
Manage Discount Code
To manage a specific discount code, click on the three-dot icon under <the Action > section.
A list of options will appear, allowing you to deactivate, duplicate, archive, or delete the discount code as needed.
De-Activate
Selecting "Deactivate" will automatically remove the discount code from upcoming appointments, and it will no longer be available for use.
The code will then appear under the Inactive status.
You can still choose to reactivate the discount code.
Archive
Selecting "Archive" will auto remove this discount code from upcoming appointments.
Once archived, the code will no longer be able to be reactivated and can only be permanently deleted.
The code will be displayed under the Archive status.
Duplicate
To create another discount code with the same settings, select "Duplicate."
This will open the Create Discount page with all information copied, except for the discount code.
Since the code must be unique, you will need to enter a new code manually or generate a new one.
How can I control the access permission of the discount module?
Go to Settings > Staff > Role Permissions
Under the role that you want to grant access permission to, you can find the Marketing section, and click on < Edit Permission >
Then, you can assign staff access to the discount section by selecting "Access Discount."
Can create/edit/archive discount: Grants staff permission to manage or create new discount codes.
Add/remove discount at checkout: Allows staff to apply or remove discounts directly on invoices during checkout.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the discount code in the mobile app?
Depends on the feature you are using. Creating and managing discount codes is only available on the Web Version.
Checking out an appointment with a discount code is available on the Web Version, Mobile App, and Online Booking Prepayment.
Can I edit a discount code after creation?
You can edit an existing discount code if it has not been used.
If the discount code has been applied to more than one appointment, you cannot make changes to the discount code.
