The pet profile is where you store everything your team needs to know about a client's pet β from basic details like breed and age to behavioral flags, vet information, and care notes.
For an overview of the full pet profile, see π Pet profile overview.
This article covers how to add a new pet, keep profile information up to date, and deactivate or remove a pet when needed.
Add a new pet
Open the client's profile: Go to Clients and open the client who owns the pet.
Click + Add new pet: This button appears at the bottom of the pet list on the left side of the screen.
Fill in the pet's basic details: Enter the pet's name (required), breed, gender, date of birth, and weight.
Click Save: The pet profile is created. You can add more information from each tab.
Edit a pet's profile
Open the client's profile and click the pet's card on the left to open its profile.
Update the fields you want to change in the Profile tab.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Core information
The Profile tab includes name, breed, gender, date of birth, weight, coat color, and spayed/neutered status.
Date of birth auto-calculates the pet's age across the app.
Vet information
Vet name, phone, and address are stored on the individual pet record β not on the client profile. Each pet can have a different veterinarian on file.
Pet codes
Pet codes are short, color-coded labels you can assign to individual pets. They appear on pet cards and appointment cards across MoeGo, giving your staff a quick visual snapshot of a pet's key traits β without needing to open the full profile.
Each pet can have multiple codes assigned. See how to set up pet codes. π
π‘ Tip: When assigning a code to a pet, you can add a unique comment alongside it β for example, noting the specific behavior or context that applies to this pet. The comment appears right after the code on the appointment card.
Pet notes
The Notes field in the Profile tab is a free-text area for staff observations, preferences, or reminders. Notes persist across all appointments.
You may even pin specific pet notes to the top and show on appointment details.
Upload or update a pet photo
The pet's photo appears on their card, on appointment cards, and throughout the app.
Open the pet's profile and click the photo avatar at the top of the profile.
Select and upload your photo.
Scroll down and click Save.
β οΈ Important: Uploading a photo does not save automatically. If you navigate away without clicking Save, the photo will not be applied.
Currently, it it not supported to delete the pet photo on your own. Please contact MoeGo Support to remove the pet photo if needed.
Deactivate or delete a pet
To access these options, click the ... menu on the pet's card in the left panel.
