How to create a client profile

How to add a new client and their pet to MoeGo — manually, from an intake form submission, or through online booking.

Add a new client and their pet to MoeGo so you can schedule appointments, track history, and manage their information in one place.

What's included in a client profile

When you create a client profile, you can fill in:

Method 1: Add a client manually

Use this method when you're adding a new client directly — for example, during a phone call or a walk-in.

Desktop

Here are 3 entries to manually add client profiles:

  • Go to the Client & Pet list from the left sidebar, then click + Add client in the top right corner.

  • Alternatively, click + in the top header bar and select Create new client.

  • When creating new appointment, click + Add client from the appointment details.

When creating client profiles:

  1. Fill in Basic info: Enter the client's first name, last name, phone number, email, preferred business location, and source.

  2. Fill in Contact (optional): Add an emergency contact or a person authorized to pick up pets.

  3. Fill in Address (optional): Add the client's address.

  4. Fill in Pet: Enter the pet's name, type, and breed. You can add additional pets by clicking + Add Pet.

  5. Fill in Card on file (optional): Add a payment card if MoeGo Pay is enabled on your account.

  6. Fill in Notifications (optional): Set the client's communication preferences.

  7. Fill in Client custom fields (optional): Complete any custom fields your business has configured.

  8. Click Save to create the profile, or Save and schedule to immediately book an appointment for this client.

📝 Note: Fields marked with * are required. You cannot save the profile without completing them.

App

  1. Open the Calendar view, then tap + in the top right corner.

  2. Select Create new client.

  3. Fill in the client and pet details, then tap Save.

Method 2: Create a profile from an intake form

When a client submits an intake form — whether in person or via text — you can create their profile directly from the submission.

Desktop

  1. Go to Intake Form in the left sidebar.

  2. Find the submission in the Received submissions section and click on it.

  3. Click Create profile. MoeGo will save a new profile for both the client and their pet.

📝 Note: If a submission comes in from a client who already exists in your system (matched by email or phone number), you'll see a Merge existing profile option instead. This updates the existing profile with the new information.

App

  1. Tap Notifications in the side menu.

  2. Go to the Form submission section and tap the submission you want.

  3. Tap Create profile to save the new client and pet profile.

Method 3: Online booking

When a new client submits an online booking request, MoeGo automatically creates a client and pet profile from the information they provide. No manual action is needed on your end.
