Sell Your Membership

Learn how to sell MoeGo memberships in-store, via messaging, or through online booking, and understand how billing, start dates, and client eligibility work.

This guide walks you through all the ways to sell memberships, including in-store sales, sending purchase links to clients, and enabling membership purchases through online booking. You’ll also learn how membership start dates, billing schedules, and eligibility rules work so you can sell with confidence.

Sell Membership In-Store (Desktop)

Step 1: Start a membership sale

  1. Click the + Add button in the top navigation bar

  2. Select Sell Membership

  3. Choose the business location

Step 2: Select client and membership

  1. Search for and select the client

  2. Choose the membership you want to sell

Step 3: Choose the membership start date

The available options depend on how the membership billing schedule was configured.

Membership with No Fixed Billing Schedule

This applies when the membership was set up with “Date of Sale” as the billing schedule.

Available options:

  • Date of Sale
    The membership starts immediately on the date and time of purchase.

  • On a Specific Billing Day
    Choose a future date and time to start the membership.
    All future billing cycles will renew on this same date and time.

Membership with a Fixed Billing Schedule

This applies when a billing schedule was defined during membership setup.

  • Date of Sale will not be selectable.

  • Only specific billing dates will appear on the calendar.

  • The billing time is fixed and cannot be adjusted.

Example:
If a membership is set to bill weekly on Mondays at 9:00 AM, only Mondays will be selectable in the date picker, and the time will remain locked at 9:00 AM.

All future billing cycles will renew on this same schedule.


Step 4: Take or schedule payment

Click Take Payment or Schedule Payment, then:

  • Select an existing card on file, or

  • Enter a new card

If Processing Fee by Client is enabled(Settings → Card Processing → Payment Preferences), you’ll see an option to include Convenience Fees.

Payment notes:

  • Cards are authenticated with a $0.50 pre-authorization, which is immediately released

  • New cards entered will be saved to the client profile for future use

Important billing notes

  • The membership start date establishes the billing cycle

  • Memberships renew automatically on the same day and time each cycle

  • Billing cycle and schedules cannot be modified after the membership is sold


Send a Membership Link to a Client

You can also sell memberships by sending a purchase link.

How to send a link

  1. Navigate to the Message Center

  2. Click the Link widget below the message box

  3. Select Subscribe Memberships

  4. Choose a membership to generate a purchase link

You’ll see a placeholder like:
{membershipLink:2102:EP Monthly}

Once sent, this placeholder is automatically replaced with a unique purchase link for the client.

Client experience (membership link)

  • Clients can add a new card or select an existing card on file

  • The membership starts on the purchase date

  • Clients cannot choose the start date

Once a membership is successfully purchased, the client will see a confirmation page.

On this page, clients can:

  • Click View Details to review their membership information

  • Click Book Now to go directly to the online booking portal

Selecting Book Now will automatically redirect the client to online booking, allowing them to schedule services using their new membership benefits right away.


Sell Memberships via Online Booking

Before selling online, make sure “Purchase membership via Online Booking” is enabled in the membership settings.

Option 1: Share booking link

  • Copy your Online Booking Membership link from
    Online Booking → Settings → Overview

  • Share the link directly with clients

Option 2: Booking storefront

  • Clients can click Purchase Membership directly from your online booking storefront

Membership Purchase Flow (Client Side)

  1. Click Purchase Membership

  2. Log in using their phone number

  3. Select a membership plan

  4. Review membership details

  5. Add a new card or choose an existing card

  6. Accept terms and conditions

  7. Confirm payment

Membership Eligibility rules

Only memberships with applicable service benefits will be shown to clients.

Eligibility is based on:

  • Pet size

  • Pet weight

  • Pet coat type

  • Service configuration

Example:
If a membership includes Full Service Grooming – Small, it will only appear for clients who have a small-sized pet on their profile.

💡 Card saving reminder

When a client successfully purchases a membership, the card they use is automatically saved to their profile for future transactions.
