Client & Pet Setting - Basic Pet Information

The Pet Settings section under Client & Pet Settings allows you to set up the basic information fields for pets, such as Pet Type, Breed, Size, Coat Type, Spayed/Neutered Status, and Behavior.
These settings let you customize and manage the default selection options available when creating or editing pet profiles.

🖥️ Desktop: Set up Basic Pet Settings

To set up your Basic Pet Settings:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Select Customers & Pets.

  3. In the left menu, you’ll find all pet-related settings under the Pet section.

Pet Type & Breed

Under Pet Type & Breed, you can create and manage pet types and the breeds associated with each type.

To ensure the system recognizes pet types correctly during online booking, make sure you’ve added all the pet types your business serves. Click Add New Pet Type and select from existing options such as Dog, Cat, Rabbit, Other, etc.

Once a Pet Type is selected, you can:

  • Add a new breed

  • Edit or delete existing breeds
    After making changes, always click Save to confirm updates.

Editing Existing Pet Types or Breeds

You can edit an existing Pet Type by clicking the Edit button next to it. From there, you can add, modify, or delete breeds under that type.

⚠️ Important:
If you edit or delete an existing breed (for example, renaming “Akbash Dog” to “Akbash”), this change will not automatically update existing pet profiles that already have the old breed selected.

  • The edited name will be treated as a new breed.

  • Pet profiles and service settings linked to the old breed will remain unchanged.

  • This can cause mismatches or booking issues for affected clients.

To avoid these issues, it’s best to set up all breeds carefully during onboarding before your team begins creating pet profiles.

You can safely add new breeds anytime by clicking Add New Pet Breed — just remember to update your Service Settings if you’ve customized services for specific breeds.

Use of Pet Type & Breed

Pet Type & Breed appear as default system fields when creating or editing a Pet Profile.
You can also customize grooming or Daycare/Boarding services based on pet type or breed.

Pet Size

You can set up Pet Sizes based on different weight ranges to better customize your services according to each pet’s weight.

  • To access this setting, go to Settings > Customers & Pets > Pet Size.

  • Click Add New Pet Size to create a new size category, or use the Edit and Delete buttons to modify or remove existing ones.

Creating or Editing Pet Sizes

  • When adding a new size, the Minimum Weight will automatically start from the Maximum Weight of the largest existing size.

    • For example, if your current largest size is Extra Large (80–100 lbs), the next new size you create will have a default minimum weight of 101 lbs.

  • Because of this logic, Pet Sizes must be created in order — from smallest to largest.

  • To name a new size, type your desired label (e.g., Extra Extra Large) and select it from the dropdown to create and fill it in.

Resetting or Redefining Pet Sizes

If you’d like to set up a completely new pet size structure instead of using the system default options:

  • You can delete all existing sizes and start again, beginning from the smallest size (the first size you create will start with a minimum weight of 0 lbs by default).

  • Alternatively, you can edit the maximum weight of your smallest size, then adjust each subsequent size’s maximum weight one by one.


Pet Vaccine

Coat Type

You can set up different coat type based on your own business preference to better customize your grooming services according to the pet coat type.

  • To access this setting, go to Settings > Customers & Pets > Coat Type.

  • Click Add New Coat Type to create a new type, or use the Edit and Delete buttons to modify or remove existing ones.

Spayed/Neutered

You can set the Spayed/Neutered selection setting here to indicate whether the pet has been spayed, neutered or natural as part of their profile information.

  • To access this setting, go to Settings > Customers & Pets > Pet Spayed/Neutered.

  • Click Add New Fixed to create a new status, or use the Edit and Delete buttons to modify or remove existing ones.

Behavior

You can set the Pet Behavior setting here to record pet behavior in pet profile. To access this setting, go to Settings > Customers & Pets > Pet Behavior.

  • Click Add New behavior to create, or use the Edit and Delete buttons to modify or remove existing ones.

📱App: Set up Basic Pet Settings

In the MoeGo app, go to Settings > Clients & Pets to manage the following pet settings:

  • Pet Type & Breed

  • Pet Size

  • Pet Vaccines

  • Coat Type

  • Spayed/Neutered Status

  • Pet Behavior

Note: Feeding & Medication settings are currently not available in the app.

Pet Type & Breed

Tap Set Breed under a specific pet type to manage breeds. From the breed list, you can:

  • Search for an existing breed

  • Add a new breed

  • Tap an existing breed to edit it

Pet Size

Under Pet Size, you can:

  • Tap an existing pet size to edit the maximum weight

  • Tap Add to create a new pet size

When adding a new size, the minimum weight will automatically start from the maximum weight of the largest existing size.

Important: Pet sizes must be created in order, from smallest to largest.

Pet Vaccine

Coat Type

Tap Add in the top-right corner to create a new coat type.
You can also tap an existing coat type to edit or delete it.

Spayed/Neutered

Tap Add in the top-right corner to create a new spay/neuter status.
You can also tap an existing status to edit or delete it.

Pet Behavior

Tap Add in the top-right corner to create a new pet behavior for your business.
You can also tap an existing behavior to edit or delete it.
