Set up scheduled recovery messages

Choose which incomplete booking attempts receive an automated marketing text, when it sends, and what the message says.

💎 Growth plan and above only: This feature is available on the Growth plan and above.

Scheduled recovery messages send one automated marketing text for an eligible abandoned booking attempt. You choose the audience, qualifying booking steps, timing, and message content.

Use this setup to offer help while the pet parent's booking interest is still recent.

⚠️ Important: Scheduled recovery messages are marketing SMS and use message credits. Before enabling them, confirm that your business may contact the selected recipients and follow the consent, opt-out, content, timing, and regional rules that apply to your business.

Turn on scheduled recovery

  1. Open Abandoned bookings: Go to Online Booking > Abandoned bookings.

  2. Select Schedule recovery message: Open the recovery-message settings.

  3. Toggle Enable schedule recovery message: Turn the setting on.

Choose the audience and booking steps

  1. Select the audience: Choose new visitors, existing clients, or both.

  2. Select abandoned steps: Choose the Online Booking steps that qualify for recovery.

  3. Review eligibility: Make sure the selected audience and steps match your intended follow-up process.

📝 Note: New-visitor scheduled recovery is intended for US recipients. Existing clients and new visitors are configured separately from the abandoned steps.

Choose when the message sends

  1. Select a timing method: Choose a delay after abandonment or a scheduled business-local time.

  2. Set the delay or schedule: Select the available minutes, hours, weekday, weekend, or daily option shown in your settings.

  3. Review the send time: Avoid scheduling marketing outreach at inappropriate hours for the recipient.

Write the message

  1. Select a template or enter a message: Keep the text clear and identify your business.

  2. Use the supported name field: Use {customerName} if you want to personalize the message.

  3. Include an opt-out instruction when required: Confirm the final message follows your business's communication requirements.

  4. Select Save: Apply the settings.

What happens after setup

  • Each eligible attempt is processed once for scheduled recovery.

  • A sent recovery text can update the attempt to Contacted.

  • If a delivery attempt fails, MoeGo does not automatically retry that abandoned record.

  • Sending and delivery can depend on message credits, recipient eligibility, carrier handling, and communication settings.

💡 Tip: Test the workflow with a controlled record before applying it to a broad audience. Confirm the timing, final message, opt-out wording, credit usage, and resulting status.

Limitations

  • Scheduled recovery applies only to the audience and abandoned steps you select.

  • A saved preview may not show every part of the final delivered message.

  • The attempt can be processed only once by scheduled recovery, so a failed delivery is not retried automatically.

  • Calls and incoming replies do not change the abandoned-booking status by themselves.
