Q: Why can't I see a pet in the Playgroup view even though they have an appointment today?
A: A pet only appears in the Playgroup view when their appointment has been checked in. If the appointment is still pending, unconfirmed, or the pet hasn't been checked in yet, they won't show up. Cancelled appointments never appear in the view.
Q: Why is a pet's name greyed out in the view?
A: A greyed-out name means the pet is not currently in-house on that specific day. For multi-day boarding stays, a pet's card is visible across the full date range β but the name appears grey on days they haven't physically arrived yet or have already left for.
Q: Why can't I see the "Assign ungrouped pets" button?
A: This button only appears in Day View on today or a future date. It does not appear on past dates or in Week View. Switch to Day View and make sure you're viewing today's date or a date in the future.
Q: Can I assign a playgroup during a regular boarding or daycare appointment?
A: Not directly from within the appointment. The Playgroup field is currently available only in evaluation appointments. For standard stays, assign or update the group from the pet profile, or use the Assign ungrouped pets button in the Playgroup view on the day of arrival.
Q: Does changing a pet's playgroup affect past appointments?
A: No. Changes to a pet's playgroup assignment apply to all stays from today onward. Past appointment records are not changed.
Q: Can two playgroups have the same name?
A: No. Playgroup names must be unique within your business. You'll see an error if you try to save a duplicate name.
Q: What happens if I delete a playgroup?
A: The group is removed from all pet profiles immediately. Any pet that was assigned to the deleted group will have no playgroup until you assign them to a different one.
Q: Can I drag and drop pets in Week View?
A: No. Drag-and-drop reassignment is only available in Day View. In Week View, click any day to navigate to that day's Day View, then drag and reassign from there.
Q: Will pet owners see which playgroup their dog is in?
A: No. Playgroup assignments are internal only and are never included in any client-facing communication β not in messages, report cards, or the client portal.
Q: Does Playgroup work for cats or other pets?
A: Playgroup is designed for boarding and daycare businesses. Any pet type with a boarding or daycare appointment can be assigned to a playgroup β the feature is not dog-specific in the system, but most facilities use it for dogs in group play settings.
