The Expected Sales Summary Report and Expected Sales Detail Report help you forecast future sales based on appointments already booked in MoeGo.

These reports are designed to give you a clearer view of expected upcoming revenue, service volume, appointment volume, and pet volume.

Unlike historical sales reports, these reports focus on future appointments. This helps separate completed sales activity from upcoming expected sales, so you can plan ahead with less confusion.

What these reports help you do

Use these reports to:

  • Forecast expected revenue from booked appointments

  • Understand upcoming service and item demand

  • Plan staffing needs based on appointment and pet counts

  • Review expected sales by location, revenue category, or item

  • Export detailed appointment and service data for deeper analysis

Where to find the reports

  1. Go to Reporting > Sales.

  2. Select the report you want to view:

    1. Expected Sales Summary Report

    2. Expected Sales Detail Report

You can also find these reports from the All Reports tab.

Expected Sales Report are based on appointment start date.

For example, if you select May 26, 2026 through June 1, 2026, the report will include appointments that start during that time period.

Before reviewing the report, confirm that the selected date range matches the future period you want to forecast.

These reports are based on booked future appointments only. They do not include historical sales in the expected sales view.

Expected Sales Summary Report

The Expected Sales Summary Report gives you a summarized view of expected future sales from booked appointments.

This is the best report to use when you want a quick forecast or operational planning view.

The Summary Report can help with several planning workflows.

  • For staffing, use appointment counts and pet counts to estimate upcoming workload.

  • For multi-location businesses, group by business name to compare expected sales and workload across locations.

  • For service planning, group by revenue category or item name to understand which services are expected to drive upcoming volume.

Summary metrics

The Expected Sales Summary Report includes:

  • Total gross sales

  • Number of appointments

  • Number of pets receiving services

Gross sales = service or item price Γ— quantity

This gives you a forward-looking view of expected sales based on what is already booked.

⚠️ Important: Gross sales do not include discounts, taxes, or other

adjustments.

Expected Sales Detail Report

The Expected Sales Detail Report provides the record-level data behind the Summary Report.

Use this report when you need to review the individual appointments, services, items, pets, or records that make up the expected sales totals.

This report is best for deeper analysis, validation, or custom reporting.

Use the Expected Sales Detail Report when you want to:

  • Review individual appointment-level records

  • Validate the data behind the Summary Report

  • Export data into a spreadsheet

  • Build your own pivot table

  • Upload the data into a BI tool

  • Perform custom analysis beyond the built-in summary view

  • Start with the Expected Sales Summary Report for a quick overview.

  • Use the Detail Report only when you need record-level validation or custom analysis.

  • Use broad groupings first, then add more grouping layers if needed.

  • Check appointment counts and pet counts together when planning staffing and service capacity.

  • Export the Detail Report when you need recurring custom reporting or deeper analysis.

  • Confirm your filters and date range before sharing report results with your team.

How to Use Expected Sales Report

Using group by options

The Summary Report includes flexible grouping options so you can organize the data in the way that best matches your planning needs.

Common grouping options include:

  • Business name

  • Revenue category

  • Item name

You can apply up to three grouping layers.

For example, you could group by item name first, then expand the grouped results to see which business locations have that item booked. You can also change the grouping order depending on the question you are trying to answer.

Setting Up Filter

In the Expected Sales Summary Report, you can filter by:

  • Business Name

  • Revenue Category

  • Item Name

  • Appointment Start Date

  • Appointment End Date

If you manage multiple locations, confirm the correct business location filter before reviewing or exporting the report.

Exporting report data

You can download the Expected Sales Detail Report and open it in a spreadsheet tool such as Excel.

From there, you can create custom pivot tables, combine the data with other reporting sources, or upload it into a BI tool for deeper analysis.
