Feeding and medication tasks are the most common tasks in boarding and daycare. This article covers how to set up feeding and medication schedules on an appointment, how staff log task outcomes, and how to customize the feedback options your team uses.

See the Task Management overview πŸ‘ˆ for a full introduction to the feature.

Add feeding & Medication schedule

There are 3 ways to add feeding and medication schedule.

Add feeding & medication from new appointments

  1. Open the new appointment form and fill in the pet and service details.

  2. Go to the Feeding & Medication section in the appointment form.

  3. Click + Add feeding schedule or + Add medication schedule.

  4. Fill in the details β€” time, amount, unit, food type, and any instructions.

  5. Click Save to create the appointment. The tasks are created automatically.

πŸ“ Note: Unlike feeding schedules, medication schedules are not added to the appointment automatically. Staff must click Add medication schedule to pull in the saved instructions from the pet profile.

πŸ’‘ Tip: If the pet has a feeding schedule saved on their profile, MoeGo adds it to the appointment automatically. You can review and edit it before saving.

For medication, MoeGo pre-fills instructions from the pet profile if available.

Add feeding & medication from existing appointments

  1. Open the appointment for the pet.

  2. Go to the Feeding & Medication tab in the appointment drawer.

  3. Click + Add feeding schedule or + Add medication schedule.

  4. Fill in or confirm the details.

  5. Click Save. The task appears in the Task Management Center immediately.

Add feeding & medication from online booking requests

The client also includes feeding or medication information when submiting an online booking request. Here is how the client adds feeding or medication details to online booking requests.

You can review and confirm those details when approving the request.

  1. Go to the online booking request.

  2. Review the feeding or medication details submitted by the client.

  3. Edit or confirm the schedule as needed before approving.

  4. Approve the request. Tasks are created automatically once the appointment is confirmed.

Log task outcomes from the appointment drawer

Staff can complete tasks and log feeding or medication outcomes directly from the appointment.

  1. Open the appointment for the pet.

  2. Go to the Feeding & Medication tab.

  3. Find the task you want to update.

  4. Select a feedback option from the dropdown β€” for example, "Ate all (100%)" or "Ate some (50%)."

  5. Add a note if needed for handoff or follow-up.

  6. Mark the task as completed.

πŸ“ Note: On mobile, go to the task list, tap a task to open its details, and add a note or mark it complete from there.

Customize feeding and medication feedback options

Your team's feedback options β€” the dropdown choices staff see when logging a task β€” can be customized to match your facility's standards.

  1. Go to Settings > Client & Pets.

  2. Find the Feeding feedback or Medication feedback section.

  3. Edit, add, or remove options as needed.

  4. Click Save.

Default system options are provided out of the box but can be fully replaced.
